Worry As A Way Of Life

Continued from "Why the Bible tells us not to worry":
Worry can become a habit, even a way of life-and it's not easy to let go of it. After all, sometimes it actually seems to work. We may be slightly neurotic, but or kids never get hurt. (we don't allow them to climb on anything higher than the sofa.) Worry doesn't prevent bad things from happening. In fact, it may prevent us from leading the full lives God intends us to live. For many of us, our worries can be like Lay's potato chips-you can't stop with just one. Unchecked, worry seeps into our thoughts, poisoning our joy, convincing us to give up on solutions before we've even tried them. Like Eeyore the donkey in Winnie the Pooh, we can let our lives be consumed by negativity. "What's the use? What a terrible way to live! No wonder Jesus commanded us to set our worries aside, to "fear not."
