"I can't spend time with God today," I may rationalize. "I haven't the time." But the truth of the matter is this: The rougher the day, the more time I need to spend with my Savior. The more hoops I have to handle, the more I need to keep my center. I think it's important to remember that if Mary hadn't chosen to take time out of her busy Martha-run schedule to sit at Jesus' fee, the whole encounter wouldn't have happened. The Gospels would have moved right along without recording this intimate pause between a woman and her Savior. And we wouldn't have seen the difference Living Room Intimacy can make in a life-in a family-surrendered to God. (From:Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World)

I never thought about that... you don't see man in the Bible having to "stop" and sit at the feet of Jesus, they dropped everything and followed... hmm... but God knew he made "us" to multi task... cook clean, tend to children entertain guest, do laundry all at the same time! That's drives my husband nuts when I do that! So he had that put in the Bible as a reminder not to get too caught up in the design of our own makeup, that we forget our maker?
Wow... good reminder. It's our tendency to neglect the most important things when we've had a bad day!!! I've had a lot of "hoops" this last week with my business, so this is a great post for me.
Blessings,
Rebecca
