Myrtle

What a day this has been. It started out with a sick sitter (Ms. Dosha - I hope you feel better). She takes care of my little man Eli (and Kaylin during the summer). Good thing the doctor I work for is off today because guess what?? I'm off also - keeping Eli. After dropping Kaylin off at her Granny's house little man and I speed to my parents house. My dad had an appointment way way out there almost to the B'ham exit and my mom gets nervous driving on the interstate so.....after picking them up off the four of us go. It's 4:30 and I've been home maybe 30 minutes. I truly can relate to poor Martha - I try really hard to keep that Mary heart!!! Anyway, back to my story. I use to work with Myrtle about 5-6 years ago. She is one of those people (you know, we all have them) that you send a Birthday and Christmas card to, think of them and then go on with your busy little life. While I try to remember those special Birthday's (hers is today) I fell short and remembered when I looked at my date book (to whom I owe remembering anything) after the mail had ran. I did send her a card (not knowing if she had an e-mail address) which she will not get until tomorrow. Now, you are wondering - what the farckle (thanks for the new word Lorie) does this have to do with anything?? The moral to my story is, if you've ever wondered (and I have several times) if it really means anything to someone to receive that Birthday greeting from little ole me - the answer is yes it does. While walking in from my long hot day the phone was ringing - guess who was calling? Ms Myrtle! She had not received that card from me that I have sent her every year since meeting her and was checking on me. After a nice long conversation with her I did find out she suffered a stroke three months ago. She is doing much better however, I'm sure she could use some of our prayers. Well that's my story! God Bless!
