My Deadly D's Story

I had my own personal attack of those deadly D's just today. For those of you that don't know, my daddy has Dementia/Alzheimer's. He has been doing extremely well with the occasional problem here or there, so far nothing we can't deal with ( all the credit going to GOD). Here comes the first "D" distraction: With out going into detail, we are having a "issue" with him. I know he can't help it and they say it's part of the disease -in comes the second "D" discouragement: it still is a problem and something we have to deal with. Emotionally this is all very tough on my mom. How do we handle it? I prayed with all my heart for GOD to have his way and please let me know what to do. Now for the final "D" doubt- although I prayed and had faith it still comes creeping through any little pinhole it can possibly find. I fought doubt most of the day and finally just surrendered the worry totally to GOD. By late afternoon my mom called to say he was much better this morning and that she had talked to his physician. I could hear faith in her voice. Hopefully, they can adjust his meds or give him something else to help. Now see how GOD works: my usual routine (remember I'm OCD) is to post from my "Mary/Martha" book each morning. Not today, I woke up late and didn't have time until just now. Wow-talk about hitting home! Not to say that the problem is gone or that the three "D's" won't come back around - I will however try to remember that with faith Jesus WILL intervene (in his own way and time - not mine)! If you would- remember my parents in your prayers their names are Billy and Jean. GOD Bless you all!
