It's almost eleven Monday night so I'm thinking why not skip the blog thing tonight? I started "pondering" about the day and really had not come up with any bright idea's of what to blog about. Then it came to me - Poor pitiful me - I had nothing to blog. Wrong! Tonight I'd like to thank GOD for for ALL the things I could blog about. Such as waking up this morning, walking, talking, a good job with caring people and a caring employer that are not just co-workers - they are my friends. Still having Kaylin, Eli, Kerrie and all my family. I could go on and on and on! I guess you know by now that I love to have a picture with my blog (even if it has nothing to do with them). However, this picture of my sweet niece Amanda (who is also one of my co-workers) has everything to do with this one. I was searching through my photo's and saw this one from our trip to Paula's yesterday. She was watching all the children having fun in the pool. I just looked at it and thought how she must be missing her Flor and wishing she was out there playing with the other kids. So you see, we have much to be thankful for and many things to blog about even when we think we have nothing. Tonight I will express my thankfulness in prayer and pray for Flor to join her mommy as soon as GOD is ready. GOD bless you all and I love you!

Fun Day
Part two:
What a pool full of kids! Let's see there is Connie, Eli, Blu or Bo (not sure which) (also, not sure how to spell their names) Drew,Tanner,Brennon and Kaylin. Leave me a comment if anyone knows for sure who is behind Eli and how to spell the names and I'll correct it. Amanda thinks you spell their names Beau and Bleau.
Have you ever seen such a sweet little face??
Now I remember why I take Kaylin to swim classes.
Eli giving his "other mommy all my loving.
What better way to end this blog? I give you as promised Connie......

Cannonball
Part One:
Yesterday we all went to Paula's house for lunch. Even Kerrie and Bob went - if that's not proof that with GOD all things are possible there's just no hope for you. After lunch the kids went down to the pool. Have you ever seen such a graceful dive?
Leave it to Connie (picture one with Kaylin and Brennon in the back ground cheering her on - like she needed it) to show the little ones how to do it right. I think that's Tanner under the board - what was he thinking? There's little Clay sitting on the side to see what mommy will do next.
The little person with the green eyes and no hair is my sweet little man Eli.
Looks like Kaylin is trying to show her moves as well. Remind me again why I'm getting up every Saturday morning to take her to swim class?
Stay tuned Monday for more pictures and a great home video starring Connie. God Bless!

Grandma
For those that were never blessed with knowing her...the grandmother in the picture is mine. The baby in the picture is also mine (Kerrie). Her name was Mary Turner Hobbs although to her grandchildren she was known as "grandma". She loved children as much as they loved her - a bunch! All children not just her own. She took care of several kids that will agree she treated and cared for them as they were her own. Did I mention she was the best cook in the world? If not let me just tell you YUM! She had five children (my mom Donnie Jean, Larry, Newell, Cebert and Wayne). I'm not sure if that's the right order or not. Six grandchildren, several (not sure the exact number) step grandchildren. She also had great grandchildren..lucky me she took care of Kerrie while I worked. I pretty much lived with her and my granddaddy most of my childhood. I always knew that I had two homes and was loved and wanted at both. She came to mind today to blog about while on my ride home from spending the day at my mom's. As every Saturday I take the grand kids (Kaylin and Eli) to my mom and dad's for a visit. We usually end of spending the entire day and eating dinner before coming home. We have been doing this since Kaylin was born. I feel it's important for the kids to know them and spend time with them. Okay, back to the ride home. The kids were in rare form today (which means they were really getting on my nerves). Fighting and yelling and fighting some more. Kaylin at times can have attitude and today she had plenty! Eli had his share of it also. Put the two together in the back seat of my car and you can just imagine the ride home. I had finally reached my limit and just yelled at them. I really felt bad about losing my temper (I didn't beat them or anything). I started thinking about my grandma and all the times she probably wanted to yell at me. As hard as I tried to remember I just could not think of one single time she lost control and just let me have it! Oh, don't misunderstand - she spoke her mind and did it well but always in a voice of patience. (I have many memories of her which I will write about in the future.) I told both kids that I was sorry for yelling and why I had yelled at them(wonder how many times I will yell before they go to bed, I should have just waited). I know that tonight I will pray for many people and many things but mostly for patience. The name is Nanny not Super Nanny!! God Bless!

Child Labor?
Thursday was a very special day for Kaylin. She wanted to go "work" with me and that is just what she did. Dr. McD was out of town so it was just us girls (me, Kaylin, Lilah and Amanda). I think she did great to be in a boring office with boring old people (except Amanda). Now if you ask Lilah and Amanda they may have other comments since she did hang out with them most of the time. We all went to Lifeway Christian Bookstore to look for a gift and Kaylin picked out a "big" girl Bible for herself. She chose a pretty pink one and had her name put on the bottom of it. She also picked out a Bible cover which felt like lamb skin and had a little stuffed lamb attached to it. We all went to Red Lobster for lunch (yummy). She told me last night that it was the best day ever (don't you just see the smile that was on my face)! I felt a little sad because when she first ask I thought "I won't get anything done, will it be worth it"? Romans 8:28 (New Living Translation) Verse 28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Thank you GOD for blessing me with the time I spent with Kaylin! Thank you to Amanda and Lilah for letting her "work together" with us. She had a special day! God Bless!

Bridge Street
Yesterday an old friend (Debbie L.) invited me to lunch ( a late birthday lunch). We were to meet at Ketchup since I had never been before. This would be my first visit to Bridge Street. While parking I was getting excited, the view from the parking lot looked very enticing. I walked past the new movie theater to a beautiful water fountain in front of Ketchup to have a seat and wait for my friend. After about ten minutes of waiting in the hot hot (did I mention hot) sun I saw her walking toward me. We went inside and the cute little girl (who looked to be about ten years old) ask us if we wanted to eat inside or out. All I could think was "it is 110 degrees outside with no breeze, I am 51 years old and having a major hot flash, sweat is running down my back, NO I don't want to eat outside! The food was good especially the sweet potato fries. I would recommend you try those. After our lunch we took a walk past the shops ( Lilah & I needed a birthday gift for Mandy). I did find the perfect gift and Kerrie ended up getting a shirt as well. For those of you that have not been yet here are a few helpful thoughts: Do not go the hottest part of the day ( I had no clue I had that many sweat glands). Wear very cool clothes (cool as in weather - what do I know about the other cool - nothing). Wear flip flops that feel good on your feet. I will definitely visit again with Kaylin and Eli however, I will follow my above advice! Okay-I know your wondering "what does the feet picture have to do with Bridge Street"? Well, not a thing ( I just like pictures with my blogs). The feet belong to me, Kerrie, Kaylin and Eli. Until tomorrow, God Bless!

Mermaids?
I love Sunday afternoon's. Every Sunday we all (all being my niece Connie, her two boys Will and Clay, me, Kaylin, and Eli) enjoy the back yard. This past Sunday Kerrie even joined us for a little pool nap (first picture is Kerrie and Connie enjoying the water while the kids are out of it). Connie is my personal pool "person". She keeps the filter changed and the leaves out. The kids really have fun in the pool (when their not fighting). Clay and Eli still don't care for the water very much. After five minutes they are ready to get out and move on to something else. They swim for a while then out they come and ride bikes, jump on the trampoline, swing, play in the dirt, or just fight some more. I mostly just sit on the porch in my great swinging chair Connie, Willie and kids gave me for my birthday. I will go in and out to check on our Sunday dinner. I love cooking for all of them each week. I don't like trying to decide what to cook (hint hint). The second picture are the kids at play with the moon sand. They really look like their into it (with the exception of Clay). I hope that one day each one of the kids will remember our Sunday afternoon's (except for the fighting) and it will put a smile on their faces. I'm thankful for the time I spend with them and love them all very much. I am blessed!

Hair today..
Everybody knows you don't get your hair cut on a Monday. Everybody with the exception of my daughter Kerrie. Since all hair places are closed she has a thought.... why not buy a "home" hair cutting tool and do it myself. Need I say more? Notice the two pictures....do you call this a trim?? I call it a hair cut gone out of control! I don't think this is what she had in mind - now dad (Jeff) on the other hand loves it (we are talking about the original skin head himself). So what have we learned from this? Hopefully, no more home cuts (at least on the kids). I guess we are blessed they did not try it on Kaylin (that's the back side of her in the first picture)! The good news....it will grow back and as God says "I will forgive you" (1 John 1:9 & Romans 8:1) so will my precious little man Eli! Until next blog - I love you all!
